Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU)

As a member of the class of 2025, you are required to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates ( SAPU ), an on-line science-based class used on over 500 campuses nationally, before you arrive at Duke. Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates will provide data to help you identify, react, respond to, and help with preventing sexual assault and relationship violence. The program will besides help you learn about healthy relationships, the importance of consent and being a good communicator, and the many ways you can help create a safe and positive campus environment .
Members of the incoming class will complete the majority of the path before arriving on campus for orientation. approximately 45 days after passing the first part, students are required to complete the brief final chapter and follow-up survey .

For Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates , two sections need to be completed to fulfill the requirement.

Due dates for students to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates for the Class of 2025:

  • **Deadline to complete PART One – August 26, 2021
  • **Deadline to complete PART Two – October 11, 2021
  • It is required that each incoming first year student at Duke University complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates by October 11, 2021.
  • Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates is considered complete after the FINAL EXAM is finished. You must earn a score of 85 or higher to pass.

Log-on Instructions
Part One

  • To begin, visit the Duke SAPU website. 
  • You will be asked to provide your Duke username and password in order to register for both modules.
  • Once you have registered, you may complete Part One of the Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates module.
  • Please note that each module will take approximately one hour to complete so plan your time accordingly.

Part Two

  • Log in as a Returning User and enter your Duke email address and password you used when you first logged into the course.

Other Important Information:

  • You will need internet access and audio capabilities.
  • To avoid technical issues, please use any major web browser (e.g., Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome) released within the previous two years. If you encounter difficulties while logging on or completing a module, try switching to an alternate browser to complete the modules.
  • You may take the course in multiple sittings.
